Abstract (EN)

In our master thesis study named ?Hititlerin Anadolu?ya Göçü ve Çevre Kültürlerle Etkileşimi?, the cultural interactions which occurred with the migration of the above mentioned nation.Although Hittites had been influenced widely by Hattie, Mesopotamia and Hurries. They did not lose their national identity; on the contrary, they created a unique civilization by using all those influences.Hittites, belonged to Indian-European language group, came across Caucasia to Anatolia in B.C. 2nd thousand. They became as strong empire by associating the local and nomadic populations into a political unity. In the consequence of the both political and commercial facilities of the other cultures, they had several interactions with the neighbors.Hittites transferred a lot of Mesopotamian element such as religion, mythology, arts, cuniform and horse rising to their own culture through Hurries settled in southeast of Anatolia and the region of North Syria. In their hieroglyphics, they used Acadian and Sumerian writing symbols. In addition to their own gods they adapted the gods of Hattie, Hurries and even Assyria. Therefore the Land of Hittites was called ?The Country Possessed Thousand Gods?. They were the Hittites which had formed the origins of the gods and goddess in the subsequent cultures like Luwi, Frigs, Greeks and Romans.Compared with the Mesopotamian laws, the Hittites ones are more humanistic not an eye for an eye. Damages were compensated with the material payment. The worth and the social status of women which is not observed in eastern cultures had been guaranteed by Hittite laws. In their administration system most of official titles were came from foreign origins such as from the Age of Assyrian Trade Colony Seniors, Hurries, Babylon, Ugarit and even also Egypt. Territorial donation system in response to service, which was hardly changed since the Hittite Era, continued to Seljuk, Byzantium and Ottoman Empire. The art before the existence of Hittites in Anatolia had been mainly influenced by Hattie?s but Hittites developed their unique art. ?The Archaic Smile? in the late Hittite ivory female figures was transferred from Girit, Rhodes, Samos and Ionia to Greek art. The similarities between the Famous ?Lion Gate? in Mykenia and Hattusas?s Lion Gate; and also the passages with vaults and chest type walls with the architectural system of Hittites show that the Myken culture, the first mature culture of Europe, was effected by the Hittites culture. Protectional defense walls and tower additions in the period of Troia VI and VII point to the influence of Hittites. The system composed with two circle city walls one within the other which had protected Byzantium and then Istanbul is highly similar to the city walls of Hattusas, capital city of Hittites. The Bit-Hilani application seen in the late Hittite palaces is also seen in the Seljuk, Byzantium and Ottomans architectures. The first time in Anatolian history water collecting basins and ponds were made by the Hittites.
