Abstract (EN)
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are one of the most common and important health problems of the 21st century. Although these diseases can cause various illnesses in acute and chronic period; std prevalance is still high all over the world and they can be prevented by simple prevention methods. It is necessary to determine whether HIV-infected individuals can benefit from the health system sufficiently because of the stigma that they have been living for a long time and steps should be taken to ensure improvements in this area. In this study, it was aimed to determine the health institution preferences of HIV individuals and the factors affecting this. The population of this cross-sectional analytical study consisted of all accessible HIV-positive individuals. The personal information form including demographic characteristics and questions about HIV and the Primary Care Assessment Survey (PCAS) were delivered to HIV + individuals available online and in writing through the Positive Living Association and the research was conducted with the appropriate sampling method. The scores were calculated according to the PCAS assessment rules and compared with the personal information form answers. Data were analyzed with IBM SPSS Statistics V24.0 program. A total of 142 HIV + individuals participated in the study. 79% of the participants were male (n = 113). The mean age of the participants was 29.49. Among the participants, women and participants with children had a higher rate of regular physicians (p<0,05). It is more possible for people who have regular relations with health workers and who develop personal ties to meet their health needs compared to the other group. The role of family physicians, the main institution where this can be achieved, in the diagnosis and treatment of HIV patients is extremely important.
