The effect of service leadership style on organizational commitment and justice perception

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of servant leadership style on organizational commitment and organizational justice. The population of the research consists of the employees in the insurance sector in Istanbul. 410 participants were reached in the study. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire forms consist of questions related to demographic characteristics, Servant Leadership Scale, Organizational Commitment Scale, Organizational Justice Scale. The data analysis of the study was carried out in SPSS 22 package program. When the results of the research were evaluated in general, it was determined that the servant leadership behavior had a positive effect on organizational commitment, while the servant leadership behavior had a positive and negative effect on organizational justice perception. However, when all sub-dimensions were evaluated, it was found that the responsible manager sub-dimension positively affected both organizational commitment and organizational justice perceptions. Responsible managerial behavior of the servant leader positively supports the attitudes and behaviors of the employees towards the organization in general.
