Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the current study is to examine the predictors of expatriate adjustment in migrating individuals, with focusing on the roles of general self-efficacy and anxiety levels. For this purpose, the mediating role of anxiety in the relationship between general self-efficacy and expat adjustment was tested, and the relationships among the research variables were analyzed. The research data were collected from 402 participants. Participants were taken a Demographic Information Form, an Expat Adjustment Scale, a General Self Efficacy Scale, and an Integrated Anxiety Stress Scale. The data obtained from participants were analyzed using the SPSS. The analyses revealed that anxiety plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between general self efficacy and expat adjustment. This was also the case for the dimensions of expat adjustment, namely interaction adjustment, general life adjustment, and workplace adjustment, with general self-efficacy where anxiety was found to play a partial mediating role. In addition, the relationships between demographic variables and research variables were elucidated through analyses. The findings have been discussed within the framework of the literature and suggestions have been made for future research.
