Abstract (EN)
Hujr ibn Adi al-Kindi, who belonged to the Kinda tribe and was involved in many important events in Islamic history, is known for his loyalty to Ali. After the death of Ali, his harsh reactions towards Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan and his Kufa governors Mugira ibn Shu'ba and Ziyad ibn Abih caused Hujr ibn Adi and his companions to be accused of rebelling against the state administrators. Hujr ibn Adi and some of his companions were taken from Kufa to Damascus, tried and killed there, and this incident caused the Umayyad administration to be criticized by the leading companions, especially the head of state Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan. The killing of Hujr ibn Adi has been associated with many events that occurred both during his time and in the following period, and it has also been claimed that it paved the way for the emergence of Shiism. This event, which has significant consequences for the history of Islam as well as the history of sects, has been discussed in our study. The introduction of our thesis, which consists of an introduction and three main sections, mentions the subject, purpose, method and sources of the study, and the first section focuses on the lineage, tribe and life of Hujr ibn Adi. The second section covers the activities of Hujr ibn Adi during the period of the Rashidun Caliphs, and the third section covers the series of events that resulted in the killing of Hujr ibn Adi and his companions during the Umayyad period. Our aim is to reveal the life of Hujr ibn Adi and his importance in the history of Islam in detail. Keywords: Islamic History, Hujr ibn Adi, Hz. Ali, Muawiyah ibn Abu Sufyan.
