Investigation of Hurriyet Mobil news site in the context of user experience design

In this study, the smartphone version of the Hürriyet news website is examined in the context of user experience. In this context, determining how all interactively and visually positioned elements of the site are aligned within the framework of design, usability and interaction design, determining the effect on usage and in connection with this, determining how the user affects the interaction with the news and news acquisition, and the description of the total experience has been realized. Three different data collection techniques were used to access the findings in the research, First of all, the researcher discusses Jakob Nielsen's heuristic evaluation model in order to examine the usability problems on the Hürriyet mobile news site. Later, the thinking aloud data collection technique is applied in order to determine the problems faced by the participants during the use of the site and their experiences as a result,. Finally, a semi-structured in-depth interview is conducted in order to determine the implicit behavior, meanings and general attitudes of the participants towards the site in the heuristic evaluation process. According to the results of the research, some usability problems, such as high and low level of impact, are encountered on the Hürriyet mobile news site, which may hinder or disrupt the participants' various points of contact with the news, their interactions and the flow of site usage. On the other hand, the spiritual experience outcomes of the tasks that the participants failed or could not complete were met with various negative reflections. In addition, it has been observed that the negative result of the participants' attitude and approach towards the site tends to move away from the site or even leave the site.
