The archaic words of Hüseyin Nihâl Atsiz's novel and poems

Hüseyin Nihâl Atsız made studies on the Turkish language and history that lived between 1905 and 1975; He is a Turkologist and Turkist intellectual with a direction of writing and poetry. The archaic word is not used today and belongs to an earlier period of language. Hüseyin Nihâl Atsız used archaic words when writing his works. In this study, the archaic words of Hüseyin Nihâl Atsız's literary works were identified and the sources that the author used in these words were searched. The archaic words were classified. The old words are evaluated and interpreted. Atsız used the words he had taken from the texts of Orkhun Inscriptions, Kutadgu Bilig, Divan Lugatit Türk and Dede Korkut, which are the old sources of Turkish language. In addition, he created new words by looking at old Turkish words and used them in his works. It is noteworthy that the author preferred old Turkish words in his novels, stories and poems. The reasons why the author prefers old words have been put forward. This situation arises from the author's sensitivity to language and the idea of Turkism. He used archaic words in his literary works and gave them life again. The fact that Hüseyin Nihal Atsız prefers archaic words in his works and uses them can be seen as an important work in the protection of archaic elements. The words that Atsız gave life to in his works were adopted by readers and started to be used again. The study consists of two parts. In the first part, the life, works, literary personality, language and style of Hüseyin Nihal Atsız and the notion of archaic are discussed. In the second part of the study, the old words in Hüseyin Nihal Atsız's literary works were identified, classified and examined. In the conclusion part, the information obtained during the study is given.
