Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, it is aimed to improve the surface properties of 304 stainless steel. 304 stainless steel is one of the most preferred and widely used stainless steel type in the industry. During the use of this material, it is aimed to improve the wear properties by surface coating. In addition, the effect of different nozzle distance and number of passes on the coating properties was investigated. In the coating process, two different commercial powder mixtures are used for coating with high speed oxy fuel (HVOF) spray method. The first method is 50% Sulzer Metco 5810 (wolfram carbide-cobalt) and 50% Amdry 960 (nickel, chromium, aluminum powders). The second content consists of a mixture of 50% Woka 3653 (wolfram carbide-cobalt-chromium) and 50% Amdry 960 (nickel, chromium, aluminum). By using these two different powder mixtures, the coating process was applied at different distances and with different transition numbers. Wear, hardness, microstructure, optical, stereo images and SEM analysis of the obtained coating material were examined in detail. Abrasion test was carried out with Alumina (Al2O3) ball in different loads and at different times by using ASTM G133 standarts. As a result of the abrasion test, the optical and SEM images of the coated materials were evaluated and the results were evaluated.
