Abstract (EN)

Hz. Osman; He was one of the first to accept Islam and the third of the Rashidun caliphs. He married two daughters of the Prophet Muhammed and for this reason he was given the nickname "Zinnurayn", which means the owner of two lights. He migrated to Abyssinia (Ethiopia) twice, he participated in all campaigns with the Prophet Muhammed except the Battle of Badr. During his twelve-year presidency, Hz. Osman, one of the ten companions who were promised paradise during their lifetime, rendered significant services. One of the most crucial achievements attributed to him is the compilation of the Quran, which has been transmitted as mutawatir (widely accepted) to this day. Hz. Osman stood out among the companions due to his extensive knowledge of Hajj rituals, his views that challenged the consensus of the companions in matters of inheritance law, and his jurisprudential interpretations made in his capacity as the head of state. For this reason, Hz. Osman's identity as a fiqhist and his views as a companion who emerged in the field of fiqh and made decisions in this direction constitute a source for later periods. Not all of his fiqh views, but rather his views that he thought differently from other mujtahid companions and that constituted evidence for the views of mujtahid imams and led to the formation of sects in later periods, were discussed and evaluated. In addition, the decisions he made as the head of state were evaluated under a separate heading. In addition, in this study, the evidence used by Hz. Osman in his judgment method was tried to be explained within the framework of various examples, and the principles he observed in his judgment method were tried to be determined based on the judgments he gave.
