Cuisine in prophet Mohammed era

Cuisine which is a significant part of social life in many societies has an important place in point of understanding social life. In this respect, the subject of our study is cuisine in Prophet Mohammed era and it was aimed to present details about this issue. In our study, it was referred to hadith books, dictionaries, and history books with social context. In our study, cuisine and eating habits before Islam in Arab society, which foods were consumed during Prophet Mohammed and the names of these foods, drinks, dishes in which these foods and drinks were consumed, how the mentioned foods and kitchen staffs were traded, cuisine and the etiquette were included. As a conclusion of our study, a lot of names of foods and drinks were included and fruits, vegetables and desserts which were consumed were determined. It was concluded based on our study that same foods were consumed in this considered period as in pre-islamic Arabian paganism era and same dishes were used but some restrictions were established in some foods, drinks and dishes. Also, it was concluded that trading activities during pre-islamic Arabian paganism era continued in this period and some eating habits which were established during pre-islamic Arabian paganism era were changed.
