Abstract (EN)

This study deals with child upbringing in the sunnah of the Hz. Prophet and the Hz. Prophet's approach to children in terms of education and upbringing. In order to better understand the subject, concepts such as education, upbringing and child examined in depth and their historical development is touched upon. İnformaiton is given about the physical and mental development of children, from their birth through studies conducted on child education. İnformation is given about the words and behaviors of the Hz. Prophet, who is an example for Muslims in almost every subject and whose actions and words are followed as a guide in life, in the field of children and child upbringing. In order to ensure the integrity of the subject and to shed light on today's education systems, the Hz. Prophet's educational aspect is examined by comparing it with current educational principles. This study consists of an introduction and two parts. The importance, purpose and method of the subject are discussed in the introduction part. In the first part, the concept of child, the historacial perception of child, childhood, developmental characteristics and devlopmental periods are discussed. In the second part, the definition and importance of upbringing is made and the relationship between upbringing and education, the methods and principles that the Hz. Prophet used in child upbringing are discussed. Hz. The narrations containing the Prophet's behavior towards the children who grew up with him were examined in terms of the science of hadith. Finally, verses in the Holy Quran regarding children and child education were included.
