Abstract (EN)
During 2nd Millennium B.C., Western Anatolia was experiencing an active period. Existence of Aegean Sea and continental Hellas on west and Hittites on east, are making Western Anatolia?s geography and peoples special. In the later periods, born of philosophy in this region; cultural variety in Greek Colonization and Hellenistic periods; privileged status of Roman Asia Province; Western Anatolian governors?s relations with both sides of Aegean and each others after Turks?s entrance to Anatolia; ethnic structure of Ottoman Western Anatolia and finally in Repuclic period, ethnic and political struggles in Western Anatolia and the ?Continental Shelf? as a matter which has been going on till today, Western Anatolia?s with its activity in all eras, provided a decisive advantage in Aegean World to its possessor.Ethnic structure of the region was never been uniter. One of the most intense discussions concerning western Anatolia in 2nd millenium B.C. was about this topic, the ethno - political structure and the ?Luwian? existence in the region. In this dissertation, sources and editions about topic, will be tried to evaluate and a general idea will be given about Western Anatolia in 2nd half of the 2nd Millennium B.C.Keywords: Hittites, Western Anatolia, Luwians, Ethnic structure, 2nd Millennium B.C.
