Over this definition is holt a lot of debate in Usul al-fiqh (Islamic legal theory). The main reason for these debates is whether the ?h?d haber is an binding evidence at judgement or not. There are frank evidences that the ?h?d khabar is an evidence in Qur?an, sunnah, friends of the Prophet (sahabe)?s practice (ne uygulamaları anlamadım, burayı açıklarsan daha iyi olur). The discussions which are about the subject had been started after first three generations. The scholars have been evaluated the ?h?d khabar with their special methods. The Hanefî scholars, interpreted this subject according to social situations in which they lived and they brought forward certain conditions for ?h?d khabar in order to accept it as an evident. On the other hand the Shafiî scholars, commonly accepted ?h?d khaber which is muttasıl. However, they looked for the ravi some conditions. At this study, the differences, which stem from different solitary hadith (khabar-i w?hid) considerations, between two sects in the prayer (sal?t) are discussed. In the introduction of the study, the sources of Islamic Law which are Quran, Sunnah, Ijma (consensus) and qiyas (analogy) is briefly mentioned. In the first chapter, the term haber, the versions of haber and the definitions of ?h?d khabar, discussions and statements related to these definitions are dealt. In the second chapter, the subject of the study contains the samples on ?h?d khabar regarding the conditions and elements of prayer (sal?t) and generally the views of Hanefî and Shafiî scholars. In the third and last chapter, samples of ahad haber regarding the fard, wajib (obligatory) and nafila prayers(sal?t) and the standpoints of the sects which is the main subject of our study are expressed. In the context of ?h?d khabar in prayer (sal?t), the causes of differences which are been between the two sects are eventually tried to retain around the hadiths and interpretation of the sects.
