Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) who lived in the XIV century found significant contributions to history, philosophy, jurisprudence and economics. Adam Smith, a very famous economist, has suggested many economic theories and ideas. Ibn Khaldun and Adam Smith have important and wonderful ideas that are still used today in the field of economics. The aim of this study is to present some economic views of Ibn Khaldun and A. Smith, and to show how much it affects the field of economics today. It is also an assessment of economic ideas. In the study, first of all, Ibn Khaldun's life and economic ideas, then A. Smith's life and economic ideas were examined. In these examinations, the evaluation of economic ideas was made.
