Scientific studies on Ibn Majah's book named Al-Sunan

The hadiths taken from the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and passed on to the next generation by the companions were compiled in works with different subjects. In the third century of Hijri, five basic works in which hadiths were compiled according to their subjects came to the fore, and among these, three works containing only hadiths on Islamic law became famous under the name Sunan. In this century, Ibn Majah (d. 273/887), who grew up in Qazvin, Iran, and was nicknamed "imam, hafiz and muhaddith" by hadith scholars, wrote his book called Sunan, and this work, which is in the same line with other Sunan books, was published in the sixth century of the Hijri. It has been accepted as the sixth book of Kutub al-Sittah since the VI century. The work was gradually appreciated and recognized in the Islamic world, and this interest in the Sunan naturally led scholars to study it. Many commentaries, summaries, independent books and academic studies have been written about the work. In our research; Ibn Majah's life, scholarly position and information about his Sunan are discussed. Studies on the Sunan in Turkish and Arabic languages have been identified and information about these studies has been provided. So, a detailed literature study on Ibn Majah's Sunan has been targeted.
