Dimensions of rationality in the philosofy of İbn Rushd

İbn Rüşd, who has a place in the Meşşai school of the İslam, has affected the frame of mind not only the eastern but also the western world. İbn Rüşd claimed that İslam values the mind and there is no conflict between religion and philosophy. Phlilosopher claimed that genuine faith which is believed by researching is greater than mimicking. According to him, the holy book kur'an is doubtless the source which leads people to research and think. Especially the debates that he had withGazali about truth, philosophy and mind led him having a place in İslamic thought. Aristotales's explanations to his own masterpieces led eastern thoughts in the middle ages for a while.Aristotales's masterpieces were forbidden by the church and were left to fade away, when İbn Rüşd introduced and wrote explanations to Aristotales's masterpieces in order to unite them with philosophy. Philosopher, tried to explain that the religion and philosophy do not conflict. According to him religion and philosophy are siblings. They do not conflict with each other, in contrary they support each other. In İbn Rüşd's mind, concept of mind has an important place. He concludes that the mind is a distinguisher from other species by birth and tries to explain the subjectwith self-containment.
