Life, work-of-art and historiography of Ibn Seyyidinnas

Abstract (EN)

Ibn Seyyidinnas is a multi-disciplinary intellectual including hadith, history, canon law specialism, writing and calligraphy, who had lived in Cairo, capital city of Mamelukes, between 671-734 (Muslim Calendar) / 1273-1334 (Gregorian Calendar). We aimed to introduce his works and his historiography whose works-of-art have been used for intellectual studies, but who is not well known.Our study is consisted of one Introduction and two other sections. In Introduction section, information about political, cultural environment and historianship during period when Seyyidinnas had lived. Moreover, details about references of subject were also defined. In first section, life of Ibn Seyyidinnas, his preceptors and his students were introduced. In second section, information was provided on author?s works-of-art and then his resource work was discussed, which was written by author on life of Prophet Mohammed, titled ?Uyunu?l-Eser?. With regards this work-of-art, method used by him and reference resources were determined. Later, history intelligence of Ibn Seyyidinnas was attempted to be clarified.Ibn Seyyidinnas had written his works due to his amity to Prophet Mohammed and in order to ensure his life better and to direct people to follow Prophet Mohammed accordingly.
