Abstract (EN)

Ibn Taymiyya, one of the most important representatives of Salafist thought, maintained his literalist perspective in theological, philosophical and other scientific fields. Ibn Taymiyya, who maintained this literalist approach in the idea of attributes, accepts the truth of attributes as they are. On the other hand, he treated the resemblance of divine names and attributes to those of the creatures as a mere verbal resemblance, and made each name specific to its own musamma and each attribute specific to its own mawsuf. He is close to the nominalist understanding of adjectives by not accepting the common universal meaning in these common names, and to the realist understanding of adjectives by accepting the reality of adjectives. In logic, Ibn Taymiyya did not break away from the nominalist approach as a continuation of his verbalist perspective. He does not accept the existence of universal meanings in the exterior and states that they are not equal to the logical essence of things. Ibn Taymiyya, who states that the name belongs to the musamma without attributing an essence to it and that the name even belongs to the musamma, similarly handled these ideas he explained in logic in the issue of name and musamma, and stated that the representations in the verbal plane are not identical with the external one. This thesis shows the reflections of Ibn Taymiyya's verbalist perspective in the topics of adjectives and definition, respectively, and investigates this approach in the topic of nouns and musamma. In this context, Ibn Taymiyya's verbalist and even nominalist perspective, which he tries to preserve by stating that the noun belongs to the personal, will be demonstrated in his discussions on the issue of name and named.
