Abstract (EN)

In the study titled "Examination of the Life and Poems of Ibn 'Unayn in Terms of Content and Style", the life, literary personality and poems of Ibn 'Unayn, one of the important poets of the Damascus region of the Ayyubid period, were examined. In the introduction section, the political, social and cultural structure of the Damascus region in the 12th and 13th centuries is discussed, and in this section, the effect of Ibn 'Unayn on the literary identity of the period in which he lived is tried to be revealed. In the first part, the poet's life, works and literary identity were examined in detail, and his place in the literature of the Ayyubid period and the original aspects of his works were emphasized. In the second part, the poems in Ibn 'Unayn's divan were classified thematically and analyzed within the framework of themes such as eulogy, elegy, iḫvâniyyat and satire. In the third chapter, the poems were evaluated in terms of verse forms, meter, rhyme and language aesthetics. With this analysis, the poet's technical skills and the artistic value of his poems were tried to be expressed. As a result, it has been seen that Ibn 'Unayn is an important poet in the literature of the Ayyubid period and his poems have a rich structure in terms of content and style.
