Abstract (EN)

This study provides an overview of Ibn al-Ḥājib's life, including his birth, the region in which he lived, his education, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that Ibn al-Ḥājib was a distinguished scholar whose intellectual contributions and writings were highly influential during his time and continue to attract scholarly attention today. Although his language and style reflect the linguistic and intellectual standards of his period, his works are considered linguistically demanding for contemporary readers. Nevertheless, they remain significant sources that illuminate the intellectual and theological milieu of his era. The study reveals that Ibn al-Ḥājib's views in the fields of knowledge and thought had a considerable impact on his contemporaries. His extensive and detailed works on Arabic grammar demonstrate his prominence as both a scholar and a theologian with substantial influence on the intellectual life of his society. Moreover, his authorship of a theological treatise and his recognition by later scholars as an Ashʿarī theologian underline his importance within the discipline of kalām. Consequently, this research aims to examine and analyze Ibn al-Ḥājib's theological perspectives and his contributions to the development of Islamic thought.
