Abstract (EN)
This study includes the translation and evaluation of the work "Mukhtasar at-Tarikh min Avval az-Zaman ila Muntaha Dawlat Bani al-Abbâs" by İbnu'l Kazaruni, who was born in the year 611 (1214/1215) and is believed to have passed away in 695 (1295/1296). İbnul-Kazaruni's full name is Zahîrüddîn Ebü'l-Hasan Ali b. Muhammed b. Mahmut b. Ebü'l-İz b. İshâk b. İbrahim al-Baghdadi. He is known as al-Kazaruni due to his association with the place of his birth. This work, authored by the subject of the study, was reconstructed by Mustafa Cevâd. Later, Salim Alusi reviewed the work and added footnotes, further refining the text. In this work, al-Kazaruni provides detailed information about the Prophet Muhammad, the Four Caliphs, the Umayyad caliphs, and the Abbâsîd caliphs. Additionally, he offers brief information about the Andulusian Umayyad. A particularly notable aspect of the work is the information provided about the later period of the Abbâsîds. The author presents data on the names and locations of certain places, as well as on buildings constructed during the reigns of some caliphs. Among the most significant pieces of information provided are the details regarding the Mongolian invasion of Baghdad and the events that occurred during that time.
