An evaluation of Ibn al-Munayyir's et-Teysîrü'l-acîb fi tefsiri'l-garîb in the context of qira'at differences and their impact on meaning

This study, titled "An Evaluation of Ibn al-Munayyir's al-Taysīr al-'Ajīb fī Tafsīr al-Gharīb in the Context of Qira'at Variations and Their Semantic Impact," investigates the differences in Qira'at (variant readings of the Quran) and their effects on meaning. The work consists of an introduction, two main chapters, and a conclusion. The introduction details the thesis's subject, aim, importance, methodology, limitations, and relevant literature. The chapter titled "The Author's Life" provides comprehensive information about Ibn al-Munayyir's life and personality, followed by a discussion of his works. The second chapter directly and indirectly examines the sahih (authentic) and shādh (anomalous/irregular) Qira'at addressed in the verses; it explores the impact of these variations on the understanding of the text from various perspectives. This includes evaluations under the headings of Makhārij al-Hurūf (articulation points of letters), the relationship between Sarf-Nahw (morphology and syntax) and Qira'at, and analysis from the perspective of the Arabic language. The examined verses are presented alongside the relevant Quranic verses, and their reflections on meaning are discussed. Finally, the study concludes with a general assessment.
