Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to ameliorate the salty-sodic soils located in bottom valley of Central Anatolian region by leaching excess sodium with gypsum and sulfur applications. Three years after the application, ESP values in gypsum and sulfur treated sites decreased by 59% compared to control sites. However, tillage + chemical application significantly increases the infiltration rate compared to the non-tillage site. Although gypsum application site had higher infiltration rate than sulfur application site at the end of the second year, this differences was disappeared at the end of the third year. As a result, the preliminary data obtained from the study showed that gypsum and sulfur application leached the sodium from the soil profile and increased the infiltration capacity of the soil. This and following studies will provide long-term data to the practitioners to solve the problem in the region. Keywords: Restoration, Esp, Infiltration, Central Anatolia, Soil Improvement.
