Abstract (EN)
Clothing is a social-physical welfare and satisfaction means for all of theindividuals as a factor which meets the different physiological, sociological andpsychological needs. The most important factor that is effective for the clothingitems to fulfil these functions is their suitabilitiy for the body. Rendering theirsuitability for the body requires to know the body sizes of the individuals. Since thelingerie products, which has been developping gradually by running parallel withclothings, are expected to suit and to form the body, their suitability for the bodysizes is important.Used sizes are required to be suitable for the wide range of consumers sincethe lingerie products are volume-produced for the reason of developped productiontechnologies and the needs of individuals have become the needs of the massconsumers. This need can be met by forming the standard sizes which reflect thebody properties of each community yet the body properties differ depending on thecommunities. In this study, it is aimed to form a standardization related to lingerieproduction by determining the body sizes of women between 18 and 50 years of agefor all of the geographical regions of Turkey. In this connection, we tried todetermine certain factors which may be effective for the constitution and body sizesof adult women, without having any handicap, and to form a standard size table. In the first section of the study, the reason why the subject was selected andits importance for the manufacturer and consumer masses and for the organizationsand agencies who furnish training related to the subject are explained. In the secondsection, theoretical basis, related to the subject, are explained and research studies inthis field are dealt with. The exemplification of this research is defined by quota system which the proportionis principal between 100 people of the least population group in Turkey to othergroups of population. The regional dispersion is realized by rating the regionpopulations to age groups. For representing each region measuring is taken from onecity at that region.T h e normality measurements are done by Kolmogorov_Smirnov test anddefining statistics values are calculated by having drawn dispersion lines gained fromwomen's measurements. For defining the relation between measurements, correlationand regression analyzes are done and it is seen that the highest relartionship isbetween weight and breadth, height and length.F o r se a rching the differences between age groups and bodymeasurement;coefficiency of correlation for each age groups is calculated and it isseen that measurements which have high correlation between themselves are similarto each other. Also defining statistical values are calculated according to age groupsand seen that sizes are enlarged when the age grows up.If there is a difference in the measurements changing according to the regionsis tested by ANOVA and Scheffe test and seen that the largest sizes are from SouthAnatolian Region. But this is not effective enough to form a standardization.Standardization is formed based on the measurement under the breast as it is inthe international standards and sectorel body definations measurement are classifiedas 7 sizes and 6 interval sizes. Moreover for forming special interval sizes to be usedvalues are presented.
