Turkish Police Organization in the context of internal security (1839-1938)

In this study, the internal security policies applied in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire and the first years of the Republic of Turkey and the place and importance of the Turkish police organization in ensuring internal security are analyzed. Starting from the Tanzimat period I. Before World War II, the internal security policies of the Ottoman Empire were mentioned in order to solve the problem of minorities created by the current of nationalism caused by the influence of the French Revolution. Inaddition, during the years of national struggle, the activities of the Istanbul government and the policies implemented by the Ankara government to ensure internal security were included. Inthemean time, the internal uprising safter the proclamation of the Republic and theme a sure staken by the government were examined in detail. Inaddition, constitutional developments in this period were evaluated with in the scope of security policies. After examining all security policies that the Turkish national police, thein stitutional history, the Ottoman Empire's effectiv eness in they ears of the war of independence of the Republic and internal security activities, and providing institutional development in the early years of their studies were examined.
