Özet (EN)
This thesis intents to present space, interior space, context of the space, factors affecting the design process, material choice, positioning of the space, relation between the concepts of outer environment and nature, their course of affecting each other, and how the emergent results are related to each step. Interior design process is a sum of implementation decisions such as materials used, construction of form, geometry, and integration of natural elements to interior space, and process of opting among these elements. Interior architecture acts both as a way and a means of presenting the imagined space form, and it is the manifestation of preferences made in this regard. In this sense, this study aims to prove that space is a context proceeding beyond physical boundaries, unable to be dissociated from the outer environment and all the natural elements it resides in, both intuitional and measurable, a statement of sensation and perception beyond the visible, alive, deteriorative, designable, human-made but passing beyond human, offering nature to human, leading human back to its essence; and that it is a manifestation of nature. In order to found and exemplify all these notions, examination of Japanese spatial culture and structures of Tadao Ando, who was born and raised in this culture, and went beyond its boundaries proving to be a leading reflector of this relation, would provide a path to conduct other discussions in this framework and consider other names. In this context, nearly perfect compositions of architectural decisions and aesthetic sensitivities are presented through Japanese spatial culture and Tadao Ando's philosophy of space, geometrical design language, architectural applications, material preferences, the way of handling and involving natural elements such as water and light into the form, providing concretization of the links that this thesis intents to establish.
