And also it is one of the components that brings out the cultural variety of a civilization. The subject of the reliefs made in the ancient times is usually the nature. For example: leaves, figures of animals etc. The reliefs that we have worked on has the same origins too. In the extent of our thesis the historical development of reliefs has been considered theoretically. Which techniques have been used. And what have been intended to do in the reliefs of ancient times is also studied. Using a familiar speech it has been aimed to create original conceptions. Our works have been created not by using any tools and carving marbles or rocks as in the ancient times, but firstly we have given a shape by using clay and created the main them, then we have taken a mold of the statue, and at the end we have poured it into a mold. As a result the work of art that we had is carved partly and has given the last shape. The thesis focuses on the importance of reliefs in the history of civilization. III
