Abstract (EN)

Cûbân al-Kavvâs is a poet who lived in the 7th century in the region of Damascus. His talent for composing poetry was well-regarded by the scholars and religious scholars of his era. While he doesn't have a complete collection (divan) of poetry that has survived to the present day, his poems have reached us through biographical books. Through the elements of fluidity, rhythm, and lyricism in his poems, he served as a wellspring of inspiration for the people of Damascus and the surrounding area. Furthermore, he exhibited a remarkable diversity and richness in terms of both content and literary techniques. Evaluating and analyzing Kavvâs's poems, encompassing all these features, holds significance in terms of contributing to the academic realm. In line with this objective, the study scrutinizes the era in which Kavvâs lived, delving into its political, social, and scholarly dimensions. Following this contextual exploration, his life is conveyed along with the content of his poems and the prominent themes in rhetorical arts. The introduction of the study outlines the period in which the poet lived, followed by a depiction of his life and scholarly personality as portrayed in biographical works.
