Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, the problems arising due to environmental degradation such as climate change and global warming increase the interest in explaining the factors that cause environmental degradation. In this framework, a particular field has recently emerged that examines the relationship between export diversity and environmental degradation. In this study, it is aimed to examine the impact of export diversity, energy use, and economic growth on carbon dioxide emissions between 1995-2014 in Latin American (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua) countries. According to the findings, although the Environmental Kuznets Hypothesis is valid in these countries, energy use, export diversity, and economic growth positively affect carbon dioxide emissions.
