Abstract (EN)

A word is the smallest meaningful unit of the language,. In cases where a single word is insufficient while we express our feelings and thoughts, a few words are being combined together in accordance with the rules of grammar and new words word groups are being formed. Words groups are language combinations formed by combining more than one word in order to express a new meaning. In this study, word groups, word count and frequency of word usage have been examined in the novel named "The Atlas of Misty Continents" of Ihsan Oktay Anar, who is one of the authors who contributed to the Turkish literature in the last period. In the introduction chapter of the study have been included the author's literary figure, his life and information about his novel "The Atlas of Misty Continents", in the first section were given opinions about word groups and the classification of the word groups. At the end of the second chapter, where there are word groups detected from the novel, have been included the graphics. In the third chapter an index study has been presented where the number of words and the frequency of word usage have been detected, then most frequently used 50 words have been given.
