Özet (EN)

Sicill-i Ahvâl Registers, which are comprised of the biographies of the civil servants that served between the years 1879 and 1909 in Ottoman Empire, are a substantial source for biography writings. They also include significant information about the last period of the Ottoman Empire. It is acknowledged that in the Ottoman Empire, the registrations of the civil servants were not officially kept before 1879, which is the founding date of Sicill-i Ahvâl Commission. With the Sicill-i Ahvâl Registers, a great deal of information is provided not only with the civil servants, but with a good number of fields of the state such as the finance, administration, economy, social and education as well. In this study, the biographies of 171 Bosnia-Herzegovinian civil servants who served in the Ottoman Bureaucracy in the reign of Abdul Hamid II and are registered in the Sicill-i Ahvâl Registers that are presently kept in the Ottoman Archives of the Prime Ministry have been investigated and some assumptions have been made as a result of this investigation. Following the investigation, a great deal of information has been attained such as the names, father's names, dates and places of birth, educational statuses of the Bosnia-Herzegovinian civil servants and the languages they spoke, the civil service they executed, the salary they got, the age they started working and the rewards and punishments they received. In the light of all the information attained, this study is to hold the characteristics of a source for those who will search on the history of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
