Abstract (EN)
The Second Constitutionalist period, the last period of the Ottoman Empire, is a period of wars, changes, transformations, breaks, demolitions and rebirths. It is possible to renovate the mind that the tissue dispute is experiencing and to adopt a new identity. The intellectuals and administrators of the period found various identity proposals in order to save the empire. The idea that guides the construction of identity during the Second Constitutional Period is Turkishism. In all areas of life, it has been aimed at nationalization and localization. The novels written during the Second Constitutional period, in which such important political and social events took place, bear the traces of all these developments. The artists who have realized that nothing can be done without self, without discovering their values and without being aware of themselves, have contributed to the process of identity construction through the main subjects like East-West, Ottomanism, Islamism, Turkism. Approaches to language, history, strain, ritual, lifestyle, etiquette, provincial, central, education and women give an idea of identity models that are adopted, desired and sometimes criticized. In the novels, the "new human" model, which is national, modern, thinking, questioning, is emphasized. In this study, which consists of three parts and an introduction, 81 reflections of the novels written during the Second Constitutional Period have been subjected to review reflections of the novels of the period construction of identity and their findings have been evaluated by interdisciplinary studies.
