Özet (EN)
The basic aim of this research is to evaluate the empire?s timar regime, institutions of fortresses, voynuk, derbend (mountain passages), and conditions of Ottoman expansion in the Balkans, Islamization and settlement. The dissertation covers the period from Ankara Battle (1402) till the conquest of İstanbul (1453). The construction, organization, operation and the origins of the timar regime are among the basic topics of the dissertation.
