Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to compare skeletal and dentoalveolar treatment changes induced by Twin Force Bite Corrector and Forsus therapies in patients with Class II division 1 malocclussion. For this retrospective study the database of Çukurova University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics has been used. Lateral cephalometric radiographs of 44 prepubertal patients (CVM II and CVM III) with Class II malocclusion treated with Forsus or Twin Force Bite Corrector appliance were included in to this study. Pre and posttreatment lateral cephalograms of 22 patients treated with Forsus (mean age 12,3 ± 0,83) and 22 patients (mean age 12,1 ± 0,98) treated with Twin Force Bite Corrector were evaluated using Dolphin Imaging program. Lateral cephalometric measurements of the groups were compared with independent t-test at the p0.05 level. Vertical skeletal (Sum of Angles, SN/GoGn p0,05 ; SN-Mand Plane Angle p0,01) and Lower lip to E plane increases (p0,05) were statisticaly significant in Twin Force Bite Corrector group when compare with Forsus group. On the other hand Forsus group showed statistically significant increase in IMPA (P0,001) when compare with Twin Force Bite Corrector. According to our findings Twin Force Bite Corrector contributed to more increase in vertical growth patern and Forsus caused more proclination of lower incisors when the groups were compared.
