Özet (EN)

The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to evaluate the bond strength with resin cement by applying surface treatment that can increase the clinical use of PEEK and PEKK polymers, which are polymer infrastructure materials that can replace metal infrastructure that cannot meet aesthetic expectations in dentistry. In our study, the samples were divided into 8 groups, including the PEEK and PEKK control groups, as 4 groups each. The purpose of forming the control group is to evaluate the effect of surface treatments on the bond strength of PEEK and PEKK materials. PEEK samples BioHPP® and PEKK samples were prepared from Pekkton Ivory® prefabricated blocks with the help of CAD/CAM to be 7 mm long, 7 mm wide, and 2 mm thick (N=80). The surface standardization process was applied to all blocks that were sanded. 40 PEEK and 40 PEKK samples were randomly divided into 8 groups, 4 each, in total. SEM, AFM and EDS analyzes were performed on the surface of the PEEK and PEKK samples, which were surface treated. All specimens with resin cement were kept in the air for 1 hour. Shearing force was applied to all samples with a universal test device at a speed of 1 mm/min. Statistical analysis of the obtained values for continuous variabKolmogorovgrov-Smirnow; The homogeneity was investigated by Levene's One-waye way ANOVA, Bonferroni (multiplecomparisons), and Independent-t tests were used in the parametric analysis of independent groups. While the lowest values in terms of bond strength values obtained in our study were obtained in the control group for both polymer materials; respectively, the bond strength values increased in the argon plasma, sandblasting, sandblasting+argon plasma group in both polymers. In terms of bonding values, PEKK polymer showed higher bond strength in all groups when compared to both polymer structure surface treatments. When the polymers materials were compared between their groups in terms of surface treatments, there were statistically significant results (p<0.05); No statistically significant results were found when PEEK and PEKK polymers were compared with each other according to surface treatments (p>0.05). When the polymer materials are compared statistically in terms of bond strength according to surface treatments; Statistically significant results were found in terms of bond strength between both PEEK and PEKK sample groups that were treated with sandblasting+argon plasma, and between the groups with or without surface treatment (p <0.05). As a result of the study, it was determined that the surface roughness of both PEEK and PEKK samples increased towards argon plasma, sandblasting, sandblasting+argon plasma application, respectively, compared to the control group. When PEEK and PEKK polymers were compared in terms of surface roughness, in control PEEK, control PEKK group samples; In argon plasma PEEK, lower surface roughness values were obtained compared to the argon plasma PEKK group samples. In addition to these, according to sandblasting PEEK, sandblasting PEKK group; sandblasting+argon plasma PEEK, sandblasting+argon plasma PEKK group were found to be higher in terms of surface roughness values. Keywords: PEEK, PEKK, sandblasting, argon plasma, bond strength
