The penetration of Germany and England of Turkey during the Second World War

The fact that Turkey signed a declaration with the other side of the war, England, beside Germany, with whom Turkey had good prewar relations, started the German-English penetration struggle on Turkey along the war. During the Second World War, Turkey followed a balance policy and maintained economic and political relations with each side. Since it was understood that Germany would definitely lose the war, this policy was ended with the breaking up all the relations in August, 1944 and the declaration of war in February, 1945.İn this study, the economic and political pressure as well as the propaganda activities that had been carried out by Germany and England in order to win Turkey round were examined. These pressure and propaganda activities were mostly tried to be shown by such newspapers of the term as Cumhuriyet, Ulus, Akşam, Yeni Sabah and Vatan.
