The idea of death in İkinci Yeni?s (The Second New) Poems

This study focuses on ?II. Yeni Poetry? (Second New Poetry), which can be regarded as an important period in Turkish poetry. II. Yeni Poetry has a unique place in Turkish poetry. The main purpose of the study is to explore the dynamics which foster the concepts of life and death in II. Yeni Poetry. Initially, the study explains the relationship between art, life and death in a conceptual framework; later, attitudes of the poets in their poems concerning death are stated. The relationship between rhetoric death of the poet in modern poetry and accordingly in II. Yeni Poetry; and ideological attitudes of the poets are analyzed in detail in a distinct section. The concept of death and a conprehensive evaluation of world-views of the poets in textual basis are the main aims of the study.Key Words: Death, II.
