Stratejik lidership feature research of provincial education managers

The purpose of this research is to investigate strategic leadership properties of provincial education managers.The research was conducted by the use of screening method. In this researh, consulted to view of assistant manager, branch manager, section chief working in 81 provinces natioal education directorete throughout Turkey. Strategic Leadership questionnaire developed by Pisapia was used as a data collection tool to measure properties of strategic leadership of provincial education managers. SPSS 17 package program, the mean, standart deviation, and frequency percentages were calculated. Significance level of .01 was used for statistical analysis.As a result of the research; It has been reached that strategic leadership practices was used less often by provincial education managers, sub-dimensions of strategic leadership ? administrative applications, applications of ethical practies and communication skills? used high level but need to be developed, ?transformational practices was exhibited close to the level of medium by the provincial education managers, on the other hand, it was founded that political practices was applied very low level.On the other hand; It is concluded that between administrative practices sub-dimension of strategic leadership with the variables of age, his and place of task, the incumbent experience, considers the person working time of respondents of survey and between transformational practices with variables of age, and place of task and between political practices with variables of age there is significant difference
