The aim of this thesis is to study the production of pure surface nickel-based powders and to investigate the coating ability of nickel-based powders. Nickel-based powders (Ni, Si, B, Cr, Fe, C) were produced in the vertical gas atomization unit at 1650-1700 ºC temperature and 22-30 bar pressure using gas atomization method. It was observed that the produced powders were generally spherical. The dust size analysis revealed that the average dust size was between 90-120 µm. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), EDX, X-Ray (XRD) investigations were performed to obtain information about the microstructures of powders produced under optimum conditions. Nickel based powders that were produced are as follows: No. 1 powder (Ni1Si0,8B2P), No. 2 powder (Ni2Si1,8B10Cr2Fe0,6C), No. 3 powder (Ni3Si2,8B17Cr4Fe0.8C). Using the, High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray coating method, the nickel-based powders were applied to the surface of Manganese based material and the coating ability of the Nickel based powders was examined. In addition, another purpose of this paper is to identify any increases in endurance against abrasion, corrosion, and to provide heat resistance and resistance to oxidation. Constant coating parameters were used as parameters. Investigations of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), EDX, X-Ray (XRD) were used to get information about the microstructures of the coatings. In order to learn the hardness of the coatings, micro hardness measurements were employed on the cross-sectional surfaces. As a result of the researches, the average hardness of the coating made with powder No. 1 is 440 HV and the average hardness of the coating made with powder No. 2 is 520 HV but the coating that made with powder No.3 seen very thin.
