The effect of communication skills training on the level of communication skills of the students in 8th grade of elementary school

ABSRACT This research is done, on the students who are studying in the 8th degree of the primary schools in the Programme of Communication Skills Training, to search the influence of the students grades of communication skills grade. The research is jealized with 32 students of 16 experiment and 16 control groups who are studying in the 8th degree of Kırıkkale 50th Year Primary School (Kırıkkale 50. Yıl İlköğretim Okulu) in Education-Study year of 2002-2003. In the research pre test-post test control grouped experimental design is used. In the research, Evaluation of Communication Skills Scale (İletişim Becerilerini Değerlendirme Ölçeği) developed by Korkut (1996) is used in order to learn the students grades of communication skills. To find the students and know the grades of the 8th classes reliability-validity ECSS is applied between 150 students studying in the 50th Year Primary School. After the application, ECSS law marked 8 girl and 8 boy in a total of 16 are grouped to the experiment and they are grouped up their sex and marks by one-to-one crossing method. There aren't meaningful mark differences in experiment and control groups. A P.C.S.T. is given to the students in 10 sessions by the researcher. This programme is given to the experiment group in 90 minutes two days of the week and it is not given to the control group. In the study, a t test is used to evaluate tp pre test and post test crossing results. A t test of independent samples is used for the experiment and control group results. According to the results of the t test, the average of the pre test-post test ECSS there are the difference of.05 degree (p:.00). in iiithe results of the pre test-post test of the experiment end control groups there are the difference of.05 degree (p:.00) As a result it is seen that the students who are applied the P.C.S.T. are progressed in communication.
