The suitability of basic photography education given in the department of cinema and television, faculty of communication to the needs of the students

In this study, it was aimed to determine whether The Basic Photography course given in the Department of Cinema and Television of the Faculty of Communication İn Turkey is appropriate for needs of the students and to demonstrate the suitability of teaching Basic Photography education with the cognitive apprenticeship method. In order to achieve this goal, descriptive case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Descriptive case study involves examining and describing one or more cases with defined limits. Data collection sources may vary in the case study. In this study, document analysis, semi-structured interview and questionnaire were used as data collection methods. As a result of the study, it was seen that there is not a common curriculum among the universities related to Basic Photography education given in the Department of Cinema and Television of the Faculty of Communication and that the course does not meet the needs of the students. In addition, it has emerged that Basic Photography education can be taught in a student- centered manner through cognitive apprenticeship.
