Abstract (EN)

Internet is undoubtedly the most important element of the communication age we live in. The virtual network in which the content produced and revealed by the users via the Internet is shared by these users is defined as social media. The existence effects of social media are not only limited to sharing individual facts and thoughts, but also directly traditional life, culture and religious life. In this study, it has been tried to examine the effects of social media, which has actively settled in all areas of our lives, on the transformation of religious education. The case study design, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the analysis phase of the study. First of all, the concepts of communication, media, social media and religious education were tried to be defined, then the history of communication of humanity and the inclusion of social media in our lives, the transformation of religious education in the era of communication and social media, and then the religious transformation and perceptions in social media were mentioned. In the following sections, after mentioning the limits of privacy in social media, the main subject of the thesis is communication and the study has been tried to be summarized by emphasizing how religious education should be in the age of social media.
