Types of marriage in the Period of Ignorance in terms of ilga, ibka, islah and their reflection on narrations

The Quran and the Sunnah, the main sources of the Islamic religion, have brought many regulations and innovations to human life. One of these innovations is related to marriage and its types, which are the initial phase of the family institution. During the period of ignorance, there were many marriage contracts that did not value women, disrupted social morals and especially endangered the future of the generation. When we look at the lives, customs, cultures, thoughts and imaginations of people living in the ignorant society within the framework of marriage, and understand what Islamic law corrects and transforms in this regard, and what it abolishes and abolishes, we will better understand the value that this religion gives to women, morality and especially the generation. Hz. According to a narration from Aisha, although it is stated that there were four types of marriage in the Age of Ignorance, fifteen marriage contracts that existed in that period were identified. While most of these contracts are reflected in the narrations, the narrations regarding the Haden, Bedel and İştira marriages are not included in the Kutub-i Sitte. The Holy Quran directly mentions some of these marriage contracts. Revelation and sunnah abolished most of these agreements, which were implemented for a certain period of time after the emergence of Islam, on the grounds that they constituted great cruelty and injustice for women. Although the main reason for the annulment of these unions, which are generally not for the purpose of marriage and are made only to satisfy earthly desires, is that the woman is deprived of her rights such as dowry, inheritance, alimony and divorce, which is her right to receive, and that the contracts are contractual (termed). These factors are also important factors in its abolition. These factors revealed that there was a distinction between men and women at that time. The religion of Islam, which appeals to all humanity, has not accepted gender-based superiority and has granted rights to women who are undervalued and deprived of many rights that men have.
