Abstract (EN)

Mongolian invasion which emerged at the begining of XIII. century caused very importand developmentsespecially in Adharbayjan and Eastern Anatolian region. Although many studies had been done about this subject Aspesific research hadn't been done about the Mongolian domination in Eastern Anatolian Region and Van Lake Basin. But indeed with arrival of Hülegü İran, founded in Tabriz centered İlkhanids goverment's trade, military and etc. Relations was performed on the ways of Anatolian, East Mediterreanen and Black Sea. The fertile Basin of Van Lake included to provide the basic needs of the military. Thus Alataq and its surroundings have the hunting opporourtunities that The Mongolions never gave up. Hülegü who went battle on Mamluks adored these plateaus. Hülegü who who visited the Alataq when he came back from the battle he had a castle built here and he stayed here for on while for resting and for observing the military developments here. After that Hülegü spents winters generally in Mugan or Arran, in summers he resided his time spending in Alataq. From Hülegü being a summer military headquarters region keep its importance during the term of İlkhanids rulers. Van Lake Basin was convenient for the social and economic life conditions area of the Turkish immigrants who came with Mongolians. Fort his reason many Turkish tribes were settled her for the military purposes by İlkhanids rulers. As the chaos happened after İlkhanids ruling ended caused the dispersing of population in this region, it helpedVan Lake Basin to be a Turkish home estabilshing Black and White Sheep Turcman goverments.
