Effect on student? success of activities improving reflective thinking in Turkish lesson of fifth class in primary school

In this resarch , it is aimed to explain how skills devoloping reflective thinking affect academic success at turkish lesson of fifth class students in primary school. To determine work group of the resarch two class which are very similar to one another in terms of academic success and personel quality out of six class in Haci İbrahim IŞIK Primary School in Malatya was selected . Accidentally, out of these classes, 5/A (in which there are 29 students) was determined as experiement group and 5/ B (in which there are 29 students) was determined as control group. The resarch is planned according to model with first ?last test control groups in experimental desing. After and before experimental process, prepared personel information form and academic success test were applied.In order to improve students? thinking skills, strategies of learning approach depending on coorpretion and writing were used. For this purpose, lesson plans, study(work) papers, reflective dailies and instrutiction about experimental application were prepared. At the begining of experimental process, information about process was given to students and teachers in experiment group. Experimental study continued for five weeks.As a result of study, between students in experiment group reflective thinking skils of whom had been improved and students in control group, important difference came into being between points taken at academic success test. Especially, in spite of not having made clear, numbers of reading books of students in experimental group were increased. As a result of resarch,like applying reflactive thinking skils in every stage of education, and giving considerable important to reflective thinking skills in educating programs, suggestions were proposed.Key Words: Reflective Thinking, Turkish Lesson, Writing Daily, Academic Success
