The evaluation of teacher's opinion about the creativity in the first level elementary school soci̇al studies currciculum

The general aim of this research is to examine how the issue of creativity in the new secondary school social studies curriculum that was applied in 2005-2006 academic years has been dealt with via the analysis of the social studies curriculum, to reveal the importance of the creativity with the analysis of the social studies textbooks published by the Ministry of Education with the recommendations by the counselor. Survey analysis was used to analyze and interpret the study data through quantitative research methodology According to the results, the new secondary school social studies curriculum and the social studies textbooks have the quality that will be of great help To the improvement of the creative thinking in general. On the other hand, since the social studies curriculum has been developed according to a teacher who is presumed to know the creativit issue deeply, the curriculum lacks of specific information and activities about how to teach creativity effectively to the students.
