Abstract (EN)
One of the important characteristics of people is to have making abstract abelity. The human mind has been made the impressions which take from outside to abstract presenters, symbols and concepts by changing.Our mind categorizes, classifies various objects, events, ideas and behaviours by finding their common styles. The concepts are the abstract presenters of classifications which form the common objects, events, ideas and behaviours.The main aim of Elementary education Social Studies lessons is to provide perceiving and assimilating the society which students live in as a whole. Teaching concepts in Social Studies lesson is very important for students? social and academic developments.In this study it has been tried to find the effect of some chosen concepts at sixth grade social ınformation lesson to the level of success. In this aim direction; 40 concepts has been chosen that places at the sixth grade Social Studies lesson book. Concerned with these concepts, a success test with 40 questions has been prepared to students for carrying out.The prepared success test has been carried out the 60 Elementary sixth grade students in Halil Naci Mıhçıoğlu Elementary School where locates in Ankara, Altındağ. These results have been reached by evaluating the success test:The concepts place in thesis are the concepts which haven?t been made their teaching in a formal education atmosphere yet. All students? knowledge about concepts is an accumulation which comes from environment and their special interests.The test and control groups condition according to them has been found same by making analysis. According to pre test results; It has been determined that the test group?s aritmetic average is 9.76, but the control group average is 9.26. Namely all two groups are resemble each other in the way of being ready.The result of teaching at school there has been a meaningful increase among children about the level of knowing concepts. The test group?s last test average is 36.52 who uses the Brain Storm technique and the control group?s last test average is 21.27 who uses Telling method. Namely the formal education which is made in school has helped the students to learn the concepts. The amount of mark increases are effected by the technique and method while teaching period. According to this the Brain Storm Technique has been more effective than Telling Method while teaching the concepts at the sixth grade Social Studies lesson.
