7th grade students' level of access to grammatical acquisition

In this study, standard of accessing to grammatical acquisition of students, in grade 7 in primary schools, will be studied. Turkish Curriculum, published in 2005, was reconsidered. With the new program, active learning was adapted. The main objective of this research is to reveal the current standards of accessing to grammatical acquisition of students, in grade 7 in primary schools, in view of several variables. Total of 250 students, selected objectively, of 5 primary schools Gazipaşa Primary School, 100.Yıl Primary School, Milli Egemenlik Primary School, 50.Yıl Primary School and Koç Primary School- were studied as samples. To evaluate their grammatical acquisitions, a 63-item test, on the basis of their grammatical acquisitions, was applied to students. To gather information, such as students? social life and their academic achievements, a 13-item questionnaire (Personal Information Form) was developed. To analyze the collected data, SPSS 11.5 (Statistic Package for Social Science) Program was used. As a result of the study, it was observed that several variables are effective in standards of accessing to students? grammatical acquisition.The study consists of five chapters. The first chapter is composed of the circumstance of the problem, sub-problems, the hypothesis, the objective, and the importance of the study; restraints and definitions. In the second chapter, there are theoretical basic principals and related literature. The third chapter is composed of method of the study, study model, sample of the study and data gathering methods. Findings, gathered through the study, and comments state in the fourth chapter. Finally, the fifth chapter is consisted of conclusions, emerging from findings and comments, and solution-oriented suggestions to overcome deficits, coming out according to the conclusions.
