The usage of the interactive CD in the teaching of modern art streams at visual arts course of eight class primary education

In this study, it is examined how the interactive education CD for teaching ?Modern Art Streams?, a topic of eighth-class visual arts? curriculum, affects the achievement of students. For this aim, the research is modeled upon pretest-post-test control group experimental design.The research is conducted with 60 eighth-class students in 2008?2009 education year. Lectures to the students in the experimental group (n=30) of the research are given with the interactive education CD for four weeks. On the other hand, lectures to the students in the control group (n=30) are given with the classical method in order for the normal process to go on. Data to be used in the study is provided via Modern Art Streams Achievement Test.?t test? is used in the analysis of the data for independent sample groups and dependent sample groups.In the results reached through the analysis of the data, it is observed that the achievement of the students in the experimental group who are taught the topic of ?Modern Art Streams? with the interactive CD is increased. Besides, it is observed that this increase is higher than the increase in the control group. In addition to this, it is found that the increase in the points that the students in the experimental group have got from the Modern Art Streams Achievement Test is higher than the increase in the other stages. On the contrary, the control group have not showed a considerable increase in their achievement. Results of the study have showed that teaching the topic of ?Modern Art Streams?, one of the visual arts? curriculum of primary schools, via interactive CD provides an improvement in the success of students.
