Effect of computer supported teaching method on student?s effort in teaching mitosis and meiosis subjects at 8th classes of primary education

In this paper, the effect of computer supported teaching method on student?s effort in teaching mitosis and meiosis subjects at 8. classes of primary educatiin is searched by comparing with traditional teaching method.This study is implemented with participation of 60 students from two different classes of Ferit Melen Primary Education Schiol in city of Van during 2006-2007 teaching year. Due to the difficulties constituting new groups of students in the schools arising from education-teaching regulation, one of the classes were selected randomly as experiment group and the other as a control group where the study conducted in semi-experimental preliminary test-final test control group design. Teaching lessons at control group were applied by same teacher in traditional method and with the PC supported teaching method in experiment group.At the beginning of the application, preliminary information test applied for both groups where its validity had been evaluated highly advanced and said test were applied again following the completion of the application.Data provided from the study evaluated by t-test analysis in computer SPSS (Statistical Packae for Social Science) program. Following the analysis, it is understood that teaching mitosis and meiosis subjects with computer supported teaching method had been more effective than the traditional teaching method.
